Our Services
LearningCorridor.com allows educators of
all computer literacy levels, school types, and subject areas
to create their own online courses, either
to supplement classroom learning, or as a
purely online endeavor.
Though LearningCorridor.com courses are
purchased individually, they are grouped
into "universities". All courses that you
create will be grouped into one university
with a name of your choice. University
websites include the following:
- Expandability- add new courses
anytime
- Easy-to-use web-based
course/university management interface
- Support for an unlimited number of
students
- Support for online grading and grade
posting
- Support for multiple sections/groups
of students in the same course
- Support for display of mathematical
expressions/equations
Each university website is allowed up to
250MB of content and 2GB of data transfer
(bandwidth) per month. This allows you ten
times more content than many competitors. If
your university is hosting a large number of
courses, or simply has a large amount of
content, you can purchase additional content
space and bandwidth for very reasonable
prices. Universities, by default, are
accessible at and address like http://xyzuniveristy.learningcorridor.com/.
However, for an additional $8.50 per year,
your university can get its own domain, like
http://www.xyzuniversity.com/. All courses
feature support for:
- Assignments, which can be
submitted online or offline
- Scheduled student/teacher chats
- Polls (a.k.a. "choice"), for
polling students
- Forums for class discussions, or
private discussion with instructor
- Fully customizable online
glossaries
- Student journals
- Lessons,
can contain questions to check
understanding
- Online quizzes/tests
- Standardized surveys, where
students can evaluate your course
- Resources, including full support
for PowerPoint, video/audio clips,
- pictures,
all other major file formats, links to
other sites, etc.
During our beta testing period, educators
will be able to set up a course with all of
these features absolutely free. Expected
pricing following the beta period will be
around $50 per course per year- much less
than competitors. People signing up for a
free course during the beta test period will
be given a discount when the
beta period is complete as a small "thank
you" for helping out as a beta tester. The number of beta
tester positions available will be limited, so
make sure you get yours right away! |
